Introduction and Process of COC Certification in Cameroon

1、 Certification Introduction

Since August 31, 2016, the Cameroon Bureau of Standards and Quality (ANOR) has launched the Cameroon Pre shipment Evaluation of Conformity (PECAE) program to ensure the quality of products and the health, safety, and environmental protection of Cameroonian consumers, as well as to protect the public from the harm of substandard products to public health, safety, and the environment.

PNT can provide an Certificate of Conformity (AC) to prove that the goods meet the relevant approved standards, which will be delivered to the exporter. The Cameroon Bureau of Standards and Quality (ANOR) issues a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) based on the Certificate of Conformity (AC) and delivers it to the importer, which is a required document for customs clearance.

3、 Application process:

1. The exporter shall submit a fully completed Request for Certificate Form (RFC), which shall detail the condition of the goods and provide product quality documents such as test reports, technical parameters, quality management system certificates (if any), etc; And submit formal invoices and packing lists;

2. PNT determines feasible implementation plans and applicable standards under the plan;

3. If testing is required, coordinate sampling and conduct laboratory testing;

4. The on-site inspection will be carried out by the inspection office closest to the inspection location after completing the above steps, and all costs will be borne by the applicant;

5. After the inspection is completed, the exporter submits the final documents (commercial invoice and packing list);

6. Issue a certificate and mail it to the exporter.

4、 Latest News

Recently, the Cameroon Bureau of Standards and Quality (ANOR) released an update notice on the Cameroon Pre shipment Evaluation of Conformity (PECAE) program. Starting from May 21, 2019, low-voltage electrical equipment products exported to Cameroon will be included in the scope of PECAE's control, and its prescribed product conformity assessment procedures will be enforced.
