Zambia PVOC Certification Service

1、 Certification Introduction

The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) will implement pre export standard conformity assessment to restrict the import of unsafe, counterfeit, and inferior products into Zambia, protecting its country, consumers, environment, public health, and safety from the impact of inferior products, while also protecting local producers from unfair competition for imported products that do not meet national standards.

This project will start on May 1st, 2011. All products within the scope of standard conformity assessment (PVoC) control prior to export from Zambia must be accompanied by a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) when imported into Zambia. The product conformity certificate is a document required for customs clearance of goods, used for customs clearance of goods in Zambia.

2、 Control List

Zambia PVOC certification cycle

According to the normal process, the general information is complete, and the time for applying for inspection is about a week. The arrangement of inspection orders is also about a week. Here, it takes about half a month to prepare. Generally, after the inspection is completed, the time for issuing the certificate is about 7-10 days, and the total preparation time is about a month.

3、 Inspection content

The inspection requirements for PVCO certification in Zambia are as follows:

1. Look at the appearance of the product

2. View product and packaging labels

3. Check the origin label

4. Proportionally sample and count the quantity

5. Take photos of the inspected goods

4、 Application materials

1. Packing list

2. Invoice

3. Product testing report: There is no need to repeat testing for products that already have testing reports, except for individual products that require on-site sampling testing.

5. For payment by letter of credit, a copy of the L/C is also required

6. Product photos should be clear and able to see the content on the product label or nameplate,

7. Packaging photos must show both the front and side labels,

8. If it is an electronic product, please submit an instruction manual in Arabic,

If there are no issues with the above information, it usually passes the audit in one go, and then an inspection will be arranged. If the inspection passes, a COC certificate will be issued
