COI testing and certification services in Egypt

1、 Certification Introduction

According to the latest Egyptian Decree 43/2016 issued by the General Organization of Export&Import Controls (GOEIC), products imported into Egypt from the control list must be accompanied by a Certificate of Inspection (COI) during customs clearance to prove that the imported products comply with relevant technical regulations and standards in Egypt.

2、 Application process:

1. The exporter shall submit a fully completed Request for Certificate Form (RFC), which shall provide a detailed description of the goods; Provide quality documents, such as test reports and laboratory qualification certificates (the third-party laboratory issuing the report must be certified by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) or ISO17025 qualification accreditation); And submit a formal invoice;

2. Determine feasible implementation plans and applicable standards under the plan;

3. If testing is required, it can be conducted in PNT's laboratory, where PNT coordinates sampling and implements laboratory testing;

4. After completing the above steps, the on-site inspection will be carried out by the inspection office closest to the inspection location, and all costs will be borne by the applicant;

5. After the inspection is completed, the exporter submits the final documents (commercial invoice and packing list);

6. Issue a customs clearance certificate.

Special reminder: According to the latest regulations issued by GOEIC in Egypt, for controlled products exported to Egypt, in addition to obtaining CoI for customs clearance, their manufacturers or trademark holding companies must register on the GOEIC official website（ http://www.goeic.gov.eg ）Register online. And it is required that product manufacturers or trademark holding companies must have a quality management system certificate issued by ILAC or IAF authorized institutions, or be certified in quality monitoring by relevant institutions authorized by ILAC or IAF. For example, in China, it can be a CNAS authorized certification institution, such as PNT.
