Introduction to SABER Electronic Authentication Platform

At present, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality (SASO) has announced the official launch of the SABER electronic certification system platform. SABER is an electronic network service tool designed by SASO in conjunction with the Saudi product safety project SALEEM, aimed at registering and issuing consumer product qualification assessment certificates before entering the Saudi market.

The importance of SABER certification lies in confirming whether the product complies with Saudi standards and regulations, and protecting investors from fraud when importing any high-risk or medium risk products, while preventing false and unqualified products, ensuring that the product does not affect the health and safety of consumers.

The SABER electronic platform makes it easier for beneficiaries, local suppliers, and manufacturers to access globally SASO accredited conformity assessment bodies for electronic inspection of products and issuance of conformity assessment certificates.

1、 SABER certification process:

Phase 1: PCoC Certificate (Product Compliance Certificate)

1. Importer registers SABER platform system account.
2. Importers input application information into the SABER system.
3. The importer selects Pioneer Testing Technology (Hangzhou) CO., LTD as the issuing authority in the SABER platform system.
4. Pay the PCoC certificate fee.
5. Payne Testing checks the importer's application online through the SABER platform system and contacts the exporter/manufacturer to provide certification documents.
6. Payne testing and evaluation certification documents, and submit the approved documents to the SABER platform for review.
7. SABER platform issues PCoC certificates online, with a validity period of 1 year.

Phase 2: SCoC Certificate (Certificate of Conformity for Shipment)

1. Importer submits SCoC application to SABER system
2. Payne testing verifies regulated products and confirms the validity of PCoC certificates
3. Pay SCoC certification fee
4. SABER platform issues SCoC certificate online, which is only valid for the batch of imported goods
