VOC testing and certification services in Uganda

1、 Certification Introduction

Starting from June 9, 2010, goods exported to Uganda must undergo a pre shipment conformity inspection (PVOC/COC) and hold a pre shipment conformity certificate issued by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS). The main objective of this plan is to improve the safety and quality of products, ease customs clearance procedures, promote fair competition, and combat counterfeit and shoddy goods.

2、 Certification process

1. Provide invoices, packing lists, inspection reports, and other materials for the products being shipped this time

2. Submit the application, approve it, and arrange for inspection (supervision of loading)

3. After the inspection (supervision of loading) is qualified, the organization will issue a draft

4. Confirm the draft and issue the original copy

3、 Precautions for COC certification:

1. The application form, packing list, and invoice information need to be stamped;

2. Validity period and recognition period of test report:

(1) Disposable medical supplies, dry batteries, stationery, cosmetics, disposable hygiene products, fertilizers, textiles, tiles, PVC flooring and other products are required to provide recent test reports (within 3 months). The validity period of test reports for other products can be extended to one year;

(2) Electrical products require CE certification or safety performance testing reports;

(3) For products belonging to the legal inspection category, copies of the certificate replacement or release form issued by CID, test reports, health certificates, and other relevant documents must be provided; (Note that the shelf life after the port must be controlled within 75%. If it cannot be provided, sampling and testing must be arranged, and the cost will be borne by the applicant)

3. If the goods are packaged with wooden and plant-based materials, please provide an official or recognized fumigation certificate or visible fumigation label.

Exporting to Uganda requires a COC certificate, which is used for customs clearance at the destination port. COC can only be issued by authorized third-party organizations, and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is not qualified to issue COC certificates for Uganda. If applying for COC, please submit the application form, packing list invoice, product pictures and other materials before shipment. After document review, arrange for inspection
