1、 Introduction to COI Certification

Most industrial products, equipment, and machinery imported into Iran need to follow the mandatory certification procedures established by ISIRI (Iranian Institute of Standards and Industry). The products mentioned in this list can only obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by ISIRI based on "conformity verification" provided by inspection companies recognized by the Iranian government; The certificate of conformity issued by ISIRI is a necessary document for customs clearance of imported goods. As an importer, it is necessary to confirm with the competent authorities of the Iranian government whether the imported products must comply with mandatory certification procedures and provide the relevant documents required for certification.

At the same time, some industrial projects funded by Iranian commercial banks require price verification certificates for the products involved in their procurement to prove that the project costs are within a reasonable market price range.

2、 Process for COI and IC certification in Iran:

1. Iranian importers apply for CTF numbers locally in Iran,

2. After applying for the CTF number, the Chinese exporter shall submit the application materials before shipment, including 1) pictures of the product style, HS CODE, 2) invoice&packing list, and 3) filling out COI application form

7. Confirm COI manuscript and send the original copy

If only one IC certificate is issued, there is no need to provide a test report and installation supervision, and the rest is consistent with the above.

3、 Applicable standards

The standards acceptable to ISIRI in Iran mainly include international standards (ISO, IEC, etc.), European standards (EN), and some developed country standards such as British standard BS, German standard DIN, American standards ASME and ANSI, Japanese standard JIS, etc. The Chinese standard (GB) has not yet been accepted by Iran's ISIRI.
